What's New

Oregon State University
International Residence Hall & Marketplace

This new International Residence Hall will serve as more than just housing for a diverse international and domestic population – it's designed to prepare international students to study in the United States, ease introduction to a new country, improve English language skills, and introduce courses required for their intended major. As a live/learn facility, the program is a robust palette of amenities including an international food market and deli, café, classrooms, offices, and single, double and quadruple-occupancy suites. A key planning goal for the building is to create a new residential precinct and a destination for activity on campus. We are proud to design the international food market and deli as a member of Mahlum Architects design team.

Wolf Creek Civilian Conservation Center, Glide OR

The new Cafeteria building will total approximately 7440 gross square feet of new construction with miscellaneous site improvements included.

Wolf Creek Job Corp is expected to have a maximum enrollment of 230 to 245 students. There are 85 staff members on campus. The scope of work for foodservice facilities is a new Kitchen and Servery. A new Dining Room will be developed adjacent to the new Kitchen. Total square footage for the Kitchen and Servery is approximately 2,750 square feet.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on weekdays with menus posted in a quarterly cycle. Graduations occur once a month and dinner is accommodated by creating 10 minute queuing segments for up to 260 people. An Open House with 350 attendees is held annually. Outdoor seating and Barbecues accommodate this event. Catering requests are also met.

We are proud to be part of the BBT Architectural design team on this project.

Blanchet House of Hospitality

Founded in 1952, Blanchet House of Hospitality is a non-profit organization offering free meals, beds and jobs. The existing facility serves approximately 600-800 meals per day. SERA’s design for the new three-story Blanchet House of Hospitality will replace the existing building in Portland’s Old Town/Chinatown district. In addition to a soup kitchen, the building will provide residential rooms with a central shared bathroom, laundry and community room on each floor, with the possibility of adding an additional residential floor in the future.

The building’s design enhances the surrounding neighborhood and provides a positive, supportive space for the people who will use it on a daily basis. We are proud to be part of their design team offering a state of the art food service facility.
